As pets are often considered family, having them accompany the gang on family vacations is becoming more common.
Subsequently, hotels and related retailers are making a point of being able to accommodate furry friends.
A new resource, The Jet Set Pets, is “the first and only one-stop resource for luxury pet travel expertise.” It offers advice and news on pets and popular spots, plus space for pet owners to mingle.
The site was created by travel writer Kelly E. Carter, who 2001 searched for a dog that didn’t bark and was small enough to travel in an airplane cabin.
She eventually found an eight-month-old longhair Chihuahua, Lucy, with whom she has spent the last decade traveling. Like the lifestyle her mom enjoys, Lucy has gotten massages and nibbled at a room-service delivery of chicken and carrots.
The Jet Set Pets offers updates on hotels and travel providers that provide services and amenities for the four-legged crowd.
The site spotlights various categories, including destinations, products, services, events, and community.
