Some 2021 innovations are genuinely groundbreaking: flying cars, Mars examinations, and artificial kidneys. Others are vital devices and software we need for work and home: VR, cybersecurity, and AI. Read on to find out ten tech predictions for 2021.

We live in a technological world. We use smartphones and TVs, drive cars, and use smart software to communicate and work.

Many traditional fields switched to automatic devices for mechanical tasks. In this new decade, more technology will ease our work. Read on to find out ten tech predictions for 2021.

1) Advanced AI

The advancement and extended use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) is one of the most certain tech predictions. AI is now an integral part of technology. It’s four times more useful than the Internet, according to some international investors. Also, it has the potential to be used in all fields where automation is possible.

The aviation industry integrates AI already. Hotels are integrating it as well. If used tastefully, AI can enhance the visitor experience. It doesn’t have to totally replace a personal touch. There are many ways hotels can use AI.

Smart computers that predict human behavior, robotic assistance, and medical devices are examples of AI technology we’ll see in 2021. Investors like Elon Musk, Tej Kohli, Doordash, and Dominos are already experimenting with different robots, drones, and smart software.

2) The ExoMars Rover

The Russian Federal Space Agency (Roscosmos) and the European Space Agency (ESA) revealed another exciting innovation. They developed a mission in two parts that is focused on Mars exploration.

The first part, which began in 2016, included the analysis of Mars’ resources to find the best exploration spot. They employed the ExoMars Trace Gas Orbiter to map the surface of Mars and its gas sources.

The second part, which began in 2020, is the true center of the project: landing the ExoMars using a rocket system. Then, the rover continues to examine Mars by drilling and extracting matter from the planet’s surface. The objective is to find any kind of life, even just microbiological residues.

Lastly, the high-tech laboratory, contained inside the ExoMars, analyzes the contents on the spot. The ExoMars will eventually land on Earth. Its results will come up next year.

3) Virtual Reality

Augmented Reality (AR) or Virtual Reality (VR) is another technological invention. It employs high-tech and 3D imaging to better the digital experience. Virtual experience seem as real as possible.

Specifically, in the gaming industry, VR sets became popular among passionate gamers. Users can fully immerse themselves into the game. The hospitality industry has used virtual reality as well.

In 2021, however, we expect AR to be even more popular. Businesses are investing in VR technology to promote their companies and offer better services for clients. For example, due to the pandemic, many sports clubs are using AR to simulate their audience in the arenas.

4) Advanced and Ecological Cars

A significant part of our lives centers around commuting. In 2021, we expect innovative solutions to go to work and move around.

Some companies developed eco-friendly cars that work with solar energy, recycled material, and no-waste systems. Also, more cars will become electric. For example, Jeep declared by 2022, all their vehicles would be electric.

Moreover, many brands work toward safer and more comfortable models for seats, interiors, and steering wheels.

5) The Terrafugia TF-X

Another vehicle invention is the Terrafugia TF-X: the first independent flying car. It has a hybrid tilt-rotor, and can even fly in non-optimal weather.

Its a reasonable size, wheels, chargeable battery, and manual controls in case of emergency. For now, it’s around $280,000. In the future, its price will decrease.

6) Virtual Security

Cybersecurity is one of the most anticipated tech fields. Now that many businesses had to change work dynamics, CEOs and managers want to protect employees and domains as much as possible.

VPNs, cloud services, and other online solutions helped companies continue their work even if the employees work remotely. A significant percentage of agencies benefitted from the switch to digital. They decided to keep going with remote work and virtual conferences.

So, to prevent hackers from disrupting a company’s growth, leaders invest in new and efficient cybersecurity.

7) Computing

Along with AI and VR, quantum computing and smart data processing are more and more necessary. Intelligent computing can help with large amounts of user data, analytics, and other types of information in every field.

For example, the health care system can benefit. It can help with quicker and more precise study of genomes, treatments, and experiments.

8) 5G Internet

In 2021, the 5G network will become standard: five times faster and more efficient than 4G. So, you can load pages, download content, and have video calls without interruptions and wasted time.

Paired with AI and computing, 5G will upgrade a user’s digital experience like never before.

9) Bluetooth

A couple of years ago, wireless earbuds were introduced. Now, we’re past that. Bluetooth is standard. Wired devices are considered “ancient” and not as practical. Restaurants are using Bluetooth to handle all aspects of temperature management, for example. They monitor the preparation and cooking of foods.

In 2021, we expect faster Bluetooth that can connect multiple devices at once from a considerable distance. Additionally, devices will provide better sound through a more secure connection.

10) High-tech Kidney

With increased digitalization, we must think about applications in health care. New devices such as smartwatches, fitness bands, and apps will become more prevalent and efficient. In 2021, though, we’ll see a new invention: an artificial kidney.

The two kidneys we have in our mid-back area filter gallons of fluids every day. They ensure residues, toxins, and extra water are expelled. However, not everyone has functional kidneys.

Usually, people with severe kidney failures get transplants from donors. The kidneys can last up to 12 years. Now, the new artificial kidney, which is a high-tech device, can last indefinitely.

The project is developed by the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF). They worked on it for more than ten years using nanotechnology.

Conclusion

Some 2021 innovations are genuinely groundbreaking: flying cars, Mars examinations, and artificial kidneys. Others are vital devices and software we need for work and home: VR, cybersecurity, and AI. Nevertheless, 2021 brings useful technology to revolutionize all fields.
